This great man set out on a journey to an unknown destination after God instructed him in Genesis 12: 1 “…Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee”. Even though Abraham did not know:

  • How to get to the Promised land
  • Or what to expect on arrival

He showed incredible courage by submitting to the will of God.

However his mode of transportation to the designated location was the vehicle called faith!

Basically it was “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed…” Hebrews 11: 8

This verse suggests that whenever an individual is called out by God, He intends to bring such a person into a prepared place.

For instance, the Lord instructed the nation of Israel to come out of Egypt (the land they resided in bondage) and relocate to Canaan (the land of abundance which He promised to give their ancestors).

Faith enabled Abraham to relinquish that which was safe and familiar because his trust was in the Lord who knew the end from the beginning!

Believers, the road to the Promised Land may not be smooth; setbacks, obstacles, oppositions and road blocks are all part of the journey but the vehicle of faith will get us there safely.

Faith replaces sadness with joy, lack with abundance; it takes an individual from obscurity to notoriety!

By faith, doubt will give way to confidence and victory will supersede defeat!
