Review: Pastor Glen's Most Recent Message
The apostle Paul said in Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress, or persecution or famine, or nakedness or peril, or sword?”
The list of negative circumstances and conditions above should be categorised as “What’s”, the appropriate expression for these should be “What shall separate us…”
But the apostle Paul reveals that there is a “Who” behind each predicament! There are other accounts in the Bible that validates Paul’s declaration in Romans 8:35
- 1. Daniel 10:12 &13 – Daniel was praying and fasting for the release of his people in captivity, when an angel of the Lord appeared to him saying “…I am come for thy words but the prince of the kingdom of Persia (a who) withstood me one and twenty days…”
- 2. Luke 13:11 – “And behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity (a who) eighteen years and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.”
- 3. Then Jesus said in verse 16 “And ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound (the who) lo these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?”
Just like the force of gravity, the adversary wants to prevent the believer from rising to a higher altitude or level in God.
In spite of the devil’s devices and schemes, Romans 8:37 says “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”
Verses 38-39 goes on to say “For I am persuaded, that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers nor things present, nor things to come nor height, nor depth nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”
The good news for you who believe is, Jesus can set you free from all the gravitational pulls of the devil!
